Questions answered

What exactly is BrainDump?

BrainDump is a place to unload everything in your head without deciding what it is first. You dump thoughts, tasks, worries, ideas — whatever’s taking up mental space. We automatically organize it into categories (urgent tasks, ideas, venting, low priority) so you know what matters today and what can wait.

Will this actually help me?

If you’ve ever lain awake at 2am mentally listing things you can’t forget, or lost focus mid-conversation because your brain is screaming about other things — yes. BrainDump gives your thoughts somewhere safe to go so your brain can stop rehearsing them. Most people feel the difference within the first week.

How is this different from a notes app?

Notes apps store information. BrainDump reduces mental load. You don’t have to organize, prioritize, or decide anything at the moment of capture. Just dump it. We handle the rest automatically.

Do I have to learn a system?

No. That’s the entire point. There’s nothing to set up, no workflows to build, no decisions to make. You type or speak what’s in your head. We organize it. You’re done.

Is my data private?

Yes. Completely. Your thoughts are yours. We don’t sell your data, train AI models on it, or read it for any reason. Privacy isn’t a feature — it’s foundational.

Is BrainDump secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using modern security standards. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.

Who can see what I write?

By default, everything is private to you. If you’re on a family plan, you control what (if anything) you share with family members. Nothing is shared unless you explicitly choose to share it.

How much does it cost?

Solo plan is $8/month. Family plan (up to 6 people) is $20/month. Early access pricing locks you in at $6/month forever if you’re one of the first 500 users. You can try it free for 7 days — no credit card required.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contracts, no lock-in, no questions asked. If BrainDump stops being useful, you should stop paying. Cancel with one click from your account settings.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

You keep access for the rest of your billing period. After that, your data is saved for 30 days in case you change your mind. You can export everything before you cancel or come back within 30 days to reactivate.

Why is the family plan so affordable?

Because mental clarity shouldn’t be rationed. When one person in a household is overwhelmed, it affects everyone. At $20/month for up to 6 people, it costs less than one coffee per person. That’s intentional.

What if I have ADHD or anxiety?

Many people with ADHD or anxiety use BrainDump to reduce overwhelm and mental rehearsal. It’s not a medical or therapeutic tool — it just gives your brain a reliable external memory. You don’t have to trust yourself to remember everything anymore.

Can I use BrainDump for work

Yes. Many people use it to offload work thoughts before meetings, planning, or deep work. It’s a thinking tool, not a task manager or collaboration platform. It helps you think more clearly so you can work better.

Do I have to use it every day?

No. Use it when your brain feels full. We’ll email you a weekly summary of what needs attention, so there’s no pressure to log in daily.

What if I’m just venting

Perfect. BrainDump has a “Just Venting” category specifically for thoughts that don’t need action. Sometimes you just need to get it out of your head.

Is BrainDump a mental health service?

No. BrainDump is a productivity and organization tool. It’s not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or crisis support. It can help reduce mental clutter, but it doesn’t replace professional care.

What if I’m in crisis?

BrainDump does not monitor for emergencies. If you’re in immediate danger or distress, please contact emergency services or call/text 988 (US/Canada) for crisis support.
